Njiko Igbo, in a statement signed by its
National and Diaspora Publicity Secretary, Brady Chijioke Nwosu, said
the face-off between Kalu and Orji can only derail the plans of Ndigbo to emerge as president of the country in 2015.
Nwosu urged Orji to allow peace prevail, adding that the ongoing feud with Kalu “is a petty campaign and is un-Igbo.
“The energy and zeal of this self
destruct in the name of destroying Orji Uzor Kalu should be channeled
positively, wholly and collectively towards the agitation for Igbo
Presidency of South East extraction in 2015.”
The statement reads further: “There is
no conscience in the destruction of Orji Uzor Kalu and where there is no
conscience, there is also lack of God’s will.
“Conscience should be involved in
everything a man does. It also demands that man must take God along in
all of his application of things.
“As the Bible tells us that man’s duty is to worship God.
“Therefore, in everything man does there should be conscience and with that the fear of God.
“Governor T. A. Orji should not forget that the man he is trying to destroy was and would always remain his former boss.
“This is a time the Igbo should be
thinking about being in unity to pursue a lifetime course that will leap
forward the Igbo nation now and its future generation.
“One hundred years of amalgamation and
53 years of independence and Igbo man hasn’t been elected as president,
yet we have voted and have not been voted for.
“In 2015, it is achievable and
imperative that an Igbo man must become president, and this can only be
achieved by collective agitation, spoken language and actions not by
Igbo leaders destroying other Igbo leaders.
“Governor T. A. Orji is destroying both the university and self as one of the Igbo leaders.
“Who told him that with a basic certificate one cannot become president?
“We should not make ourselves a laughing stock of other ethnic nationalities.
“President Goodluck Jonathan has been
sworn in twice as president of this nation and the presidential system
allows him to be sworn in as such, and not the third time as the
President of this nation.
“Inasmuch as the court has given him the
right to run and not the right to be sworn in the third time, that has
become a political issue.
“Presently, all odds and all evens are in our favour for a South Easterner to become president in 2015.
“The self destruct in Abia State must stop now and the hatchet must be buried right away”.
