I took
time off my very busy schedule recently to do some introspection on
Nigeria, and the way forward, in the midst of the numerous challenges
facing it. I do this regularly as a patriotic stakeholder in the
Nigerian project. I must confess that it is during such quiet moments
that I receive revelations, which I have often shared in this column.
The focus of the latest meditative process was ‘Nigeria before 2015’. I
can never be tired of writing about 2015

Orji Kalu touts a free-market approach - Tupy
The media’s attention in Nigeria is focused on its attempt to subdue Boko Haram, an Islamic Jihadist militant terrorist organization that operates in that country’s Muslim provinces and that has been responsible for massacring hundreds of Christians and for the burning of schools and churches. However, the contest for Nigeria’s presidency is slowly taking shape. The 2015 election is likely to be dominated by economic issues and persistent poverty as much as concerns over internal security. In the past, capitalism was a dirty word in much of Africa. Today, many African countries are liberalizing, and some outspoken leaders, such as Orji Uzor Kalu, the former governor of Nigeria’s Abia state, are happy to proclaim the virtues of the free market.

PLIGHT OF NDI IGBO WITHIN THE WEST-COAST
Great Compatriots, Let me use this
wonderful opportunity to remind the great leaders of Ndi Igbo most especially
of this great platform NJIKO IGBO about the plight of ndi igbo in Diaspora. In
my mind I believe through you the minister of foreign affairs will get to know
this and not only knowing but to do something about it.
When you go round the world and
check those Nigerians inside prisons in different countries, you will find out
that majority of them are Igbos, some though contravene the law of their host
countries and are culpable of one crime or the other but more are even innocent
to the charges that have been leveled against them, but due to the altitude of
Nigerian ambassador in this countries they are still there in the prisons in
most cases without been charge or even given a fair hearing.

Leadership Lessons From A Master Strategist (ORJI UZOR KALU SERIES)
Writing about the executive governor of Abia State, His Excellency,
Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu presents its own challenges. Challenges that can only be compared with shooting a dart at a moving object. With Kalu,
events do not just take shape, they run, at times, leaving your assumptions in a state of constant flux. In the last twelve months for instance, Kalu
has compressed enough activities to last many ordinary mortals more than a lifetime.

Kalu and Orji should resolve their face-off - Njiko Igbo
The umbrella organisation for the
realisation of Igbo Presidency in 2015, Njiko Igbo, has called for the
resolution of the face off between the Abia State governor, Theodore
Orji, and his predecessor, Orji Kalu.
Njiko Igbo, in a statement signed by its
National and Diaspora Publicity Secretary, Brady Chijioke Nwosu, said
the face-off between Kalu and Orji can only derail the plans of Ndigbo to emerge as president of the country in 2015.
Mismanaging Orji Uzor Kalu
As far as an evaluation of actors in the public space go, it is fairly obvious that neither Nigeria nor Ndigbo
know exactly what to do with (or about) Orji Uzor Kalu, the former
Governor of Abia State. But he is doing something with himself, with Ndigbo
and with Nigeria, so it is impossible to write him off. To pocket him
is out of the question. To use him without his having a say in the
matter is not to be contemplated at all. that is why many have said ‘we
don't know what to do with that Orji fellow’, with a mixture of dismay
and consternation.

NDIGBO AND THE LEADERSHIP QUESTION: THE ORJI UZOR KALU ALTERNATIVE
Few issues concerning the Igbo nation
have provoked profound debate and lengthy discussions than the vexed
question of leadership. There is this otiose conception among our people
that the Igbo have no ‘eze’. I think this is a wrong assumption.
The Igbo have ‘eze’, perhaps not in the sense other cultures like the
Yoruba or the Hausa/Fulani express and institutionalize their own
kingship patterns. Unfortunately, most of our people have bought into
this rheumy impression upon which basis they impugn their very best and
ridicule them before the public.

PRESIDENCY: 2015 IS THE TURN OF THE SOUTH EAST – ATIKU!!!
Former vice-president Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has reiterated his
commitment to power shift to the south east in 2015. Speaking in Enugu ,
at the beginning of his tour of the South-East zone to meet with the
PDP leaders, stakeholders and business community leaders in the region,
Abubakar said he remained irrevocably committed to a president of
Igbo extraction in 2015. “I am committed to an Igbo presidency in 2015
to a point of passion. I remain resolutely committed that this zone be
fully reintegrated in Nigeria,”
2015: No Progress For Nigeria Until An Igbo Man Becomes President – Orji Kalu
Former Abia State governor, Chief Orji Uzor Kalu has been
telling all who care to listen that it is time a Nigerian president of
Igbo extraction emerged. Again, Kalu has passionately reiterated that
for the country to make meaningful progress, an Igbo man should be
elected as president at the 2015 polls. He stated this even as he
dispelled insinuation that he scuttled Dr. Alex Ekwueme’s presidential
ambition in 1999.
Reports from Abia state said youths this few days ago embarked on a
solidarity rally in Igbere to demonstrate support for Orji Uzor Kalu. A
correspondents in Igbere say this was a spontaneous reaction following
the news yesterday by the PDP national publicity secretary Metu
confirming Kalu’s membership of the party. It could be recalled that
the Governor of Abia state T. A. Orji with some PDP stalwarts in the
state have been in tremendous trepidation following their suspicion late
2012 that Kalu was scheming to rejoin the party which led to various
illegal attempts by them to block his re-admission.
The youths numbering over 10, 000 according to a report were received in Kalu’s country home CAMP NEYA Igbere by his Special Assistant Chukwudi Okoroafor (Pastor) as they sang and chanted war songs marching round the compound.
In a letter presented by their leader Com. Ibe Onyebuchi (Former councilor ASA ward 2) Aba, they congratulated Kalu on his re-admission into PDP and called on him to join the race for Aso Rock 2015. This according to them is based on the fact that 2015 is the turn of Ndi Igbo to produce the President of Nigeria and Kalu remains the best candidate to clinch the elusive position for Ndi Igbo.
They also condemned Gov. T. Orji’s leadership in the state saying that Abians are totally disappointed with the present administration. They however called on him to sit up and make efforts to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.
